150th Anniversary Business Luncheon
On February 1st, the Sacramento Children’s Home hosted the 150th Anniversary Business Luncheon at Golden 1 Center. The event was attended by nearly 500 local business leaders and dedicated supporters and included remarks by Mayor Darrell Steinberg, Sacramento Children’s Home CEO Roy Alexander, and Sacramento Kings President Chris Granger. Miles Cooley, Partner with Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, gave an inspiring keynote address recounting his journey from foster youth to SCH resident to successful entertainment attorney. Scott Moak, Vice President of Community Impact for the Sacramento Kings Foundation, served as Master of Ceremonies.
Honorees included The McClatchy Company, Gladding McBean, and Wells Fargo, each in business in Sacramento for more than 100 years. Chris and Jennifer Granger, the Sacramento Kings Foundation, and Golden 1 Credit Union were also recognized for their philanthropic commitment to the Sacramento community.
The Business Luncheon gave us an opportunity to celebrate not only our 150 year history, but the important role that Sacramento’s business leaders continue to play in caring for our community’s most vulnerable children and families.
