Giving Children and Families a Better Tomorrow for 150 Years

In 1867, Sacramento was facing tremendous changes. The city was growing fast, as was the population of destitute families living on its riverbanks. A group of concerned citizens took it upon themselves to make a difference, and the Sacramento Children’s Home was born. Today, we proudly stand as the most comprehensive child and family service agency in Sacramento County. With eight programs across six locations focusing on prevention, early intervention, and mental health treatment, the Sacramento Children’s Home is strengthening families and ending the generational cycle of child abuse and neglect.
